Fire Safety Stick Pro recommended guidelines for installation and maintenance in a commercial environment
Installation
Along with a securely, wall mounted Fire Safety Stick, we would recommend the following for each installation:
1. Correct signage, mounted on the wall, typically photo-luminescent, clearly indicating the model, the classifications of fires it has been certified for and how to use it. We have also added QR codes linking to for further guidance on how to use the Fire Safety Stick and also how to carry out these suggested maintenance checks.
2. A tamper tag to secure the bottom striker cap to the base handle of the Fire Safety Stick. There should also be a sticker on the unit and/or tag displaying its installation and maintenance check dates. It may also indicate the model of the Fire Safety Stick.
3. A suitable logbook to record all the maintenance checks throughout its life-cycle. One option is to print the maintenance record sheets (available as a pdf) and attach them to the site’s existing fire safety logbook. The same Fire Safety Stick extinguisher (available as the 50 or 100 models) but adapted for these non-owner occupied properties. Included within the kit is the extra clip (2x mounting clips altogether), a tamper tag fitted to secure the bottom striker cap, and a fire extinguisher sign (this can be either a vinyl self-adhesive sticker or a rigid “glow-in-the-dark” sign) – this shows how to use the stick and what fire classes to use it on as well as QR codes to allow scanning for further information on how to use as well as recommended regular maintenance inspections.
There is also a sticker placed on the handle to indicate the installation date and one on the tag to record the regular inspections. In addition, there is a free download PDF of the maintenance inspection log sheet for the owner to document the inspections.

NB These are ideal if are being installed in addition to complement existing traditional fire extinguishers. If you are looking to replace traditional fire extinguishers with Fire Safety Sticks, please note that the Fire Safety Sticks may not be covered by the specific regulations. For example in a premises, you will need to ensure your fire risk assessment has been updated, along with approval by your insurance company.
